TSL’s SM87 and SM87V acoustic warning sounders are ideally suited for installation. The SM87 has no front panel of its own and is a compact unit for concealed installation in customized loudspeaker openings. This makes the sounder particularly compact and easy to accommodate in the door area of the vehicles. The acoustic warning sounder is often installed in the inner door cove of trains.
In rail vehicles, TSL’s SM87 acoustic warning sounders make use of up to seven different tones and tone sequences to alert passengers to various situations, such as door closing processes.
The SM87’s optional adaptive sound level adjustment to the environment ensures that travelers hear the beeps at an appropriate volume. The sound level thus automatically becomes louder in a suburban train loaded with celebrating soccer fans while automatically becoming quieter on a quiet night trip in an Intercity train car.
The SM87 can be upgraded to the SM87V with an additional panel. The SM87V sound module has all the features of the tried-and-tested SM87 acoustic warning sounder. The difference is new sound amplifier panel, which enables louder beeps of up to 100 decibels. The amplifier panel was specially designed to render standard-compliant sound levels even behind wall cladding and covers. The SM87V does not allow adaptive or dynamic sound level adjustment with the concealed installation option.
