Everything began at TSL-ESCHA in the 1980s with the PK2x series. Meanwhile, the push buttons of the PK2x series are available in a variety of designs. The special feature: a one-piece housing design. This has the great advantage that the switching chamber of the push buttons is hermetically sealed. The self-cleaning contacts and absence of moving parts make the push buttons wear and maintenance-free. These features are the basis for a long service life while facilitating trouble-free operation. And it keeps your costs down. On the front side, the switch housing of the PK2x series has no gaps where dust or water can penetrate, and nothing grates or jams when the push button is pressed. This allows you to use the push buttons of the PK2x series in very different regions. For example, in regions with very frigid temperatures such as Scandinavia or Siberia, as the door opening push buttons are frost-proof. And thanks to being dustproof, the PK2x series is also suitable for desert areas.
PK2x push buttons for every installation situation
The PK2x push button family offers the largest number of variations in TSL’s push button range. There are eight construction types alone. There are also various switching functions, LED colors and mounting rings, as well as a large selection of pictograms. This means that you can optimally adapt the push buttons to suit your vehicle and installation situation.
We want to provide our customers with tailor-made products, and installation should be as simple as possible. Construction type 7 and 8 push buttons, for example, come with an integrated mounting aid. We have also developed a centering assistance for you to protect against glass breakage caused by screws. The centering assistance also facilitates mounting, which saves you time and money when installing the push buttons. The glass mounting variant has a new modern and optimized design for installation in the glass cutout. The new spacer ring is now restrained and therefore adapts perfectly to the door design.
The railway standard EN 14752 is complied with
Thanks to the PK2x series’ modular structure, all available pictograms and tactile touch surfaces can be combined. Door opening push buttons PK23, PK28 and PK28-Z comply with the EN 14752 standard for side entrance systems for railway vehicles. This means that the push buttons’ active operation surfaces have a minimum dimension of 30 millimeters. Furthermore, the touch surface is raised by three millimeters, and the tactile symbols are raised by 0.5 millimeters. Due to the special design, the functionality becomes noticeable especilly for visually impaired persons. The push buttons also comply with the maximum switching force of 15 newtons required by the standard. The glass mounting variants for installation in the glass cutout now feature a modern and optimized design. The new spacer ring is much more delicate and thus fits perfectly to the door design.
